The kiwifruit industry has made a strong comeback from Psa disease and is bringing major economic benefits to the Bay of Plenty says local MP, Todd Muller.

Zespri’s global sales reached $1.568 billion in 2014/15, up 16 percent on the previous year.

“Our local growers support the entire region and when they do well, they bring the rest of the region with them”, says Todd Muller.

“We’ve seen a massive increase in jobs and a recent ANZ study on the regions showed the Bay of Plenty grew almost 5 percent in the first quarter of this year.

“I congratulate Zespri and local growers on delivering such a positive result for our region”, says Todd Muller.
