Shorter travel times and less congestion between Tauranga and Papamoa will be a welcome relief for commuters, says Bay of Plenty MP Todd Muller.

“It is great to see all four lanes between Te Maunga and Domain Road being opened today and tomorrow, well ahead of the road’s official opening later this year”, says Todd Muller.

“I commend the project managers and staff at NZTA who have delivered these outstanding results.”

Two lanes for each east-bound and west-bound route will alleviate much congestion of the 23,000 vehicles that use the road each day, which saw some people using the alternative route via Papamoa Beach Road.

“This is great news for the Papamoa community and the improved infrastructure will support the remarkable growth that we are seeing in this area”, says Todd Muller.
