MP encourages teachers to apply for support to trial innovative teaching approaches
Local MP Todd Muller says he hopes local teachers will apply to the Teacher-led Innovation Fund for financial support to trial their great ideas on innovative teaching practices.
“I want to see our local teachers inspired to come up with great ideas to raise achievement in the classroom, and given support to put them into practice,” Todd Muller said.
This is the second round of funding for the $10 million Teacher-led Innovation Fund – part of National’s $359 million Investing in Educational Success initiative.
The first round supported projects at more than 75 schools. Since July the projects have been put into practice and shared across schools.
“We want to help teachers to have a go at improving outcomes in the classroom by doing things differently. And we want this to include collaboration between schools to lift teaching practices across communities,” Todd Muller said.
Applications opened on 16 November and close on 19 February next year. More information is available at: http://www.education.govt.nz/ministry-of-education/specific-initiatives/investing-in-educational-success/teacher-led-innovation-fund/
