Todd Muller MP for Bay of Plenty has had Hon Maggie Barry, Minister for Senior Citizens in the Bay of Plenty today.

“We have visited a number of places around the Bay of Plenty electorate including Ocean Shores Village and Omokoroa Country estate who were both very welcoming.

“The visit to Omokoroa Country Estate has been particularly exciting with the residents pouring over the details of the $520 million dollar Tauranga Northern Link and Omokoroa roading developments announced yesterday.

“It has been fantastic to have the Minister in the electorate today with so much going on” says Mr Muller.

“There has been concern about the SuperGold cards recently so it is good to be in the area with the Minister letting people know that there will be no change to entitlements for Card holders.

“In fact the card has gone from strength to strength now offering discounts to over 8,000 businesses nationwide.

“New concessions on essential services like dentists, audiologists, opticians and lawyers have also been negotiated which will help support our seniors.

“Also the annual increase to NZ superannuation has been welcomed recently. The rate for NZ superannuation and the Veteran’s pension has continued to rise more than the rate of inflation over the last eight years.
